LMSC Singer of the Week – Jessica Pettigrew

Jessica was asked to tell a little about herself and the following are in her own words. I’ve always had an interest in singing ever since I was a child because my mom would buy CDs to play in the car. I loved to sing along and memorize them all. The first time I heard of our school choir was in 7th grade and I was all for it! It was a great experience for me and it taught me a lot, like how to read sheet music, and I learned about Select Chorale. I was so excited and knew I wanted to be in it! I never actually thought that my dream would come true, but hearing about Select got me motivated. I’ve also tried a barbershop group called Young Women in Harmony, where you learn a song in a day, then perform it for your parents. It was amazing! I then went to a similar 3-day event and it was even better! All of these events have made me into the person I am today. In addition to singing, I like video games, reading, and chilling with my friends.

Congratulations Jessica!
